Bombala

The Bombala appears on the miniature sheet, issued with the stamp set of 1969 and this is also 1.25 Rls. Value.
A motorship of 6,744 gross tons 7,326 net, the Bombala has dimensions of 426.1 x 59.3 x 25.0 ft. Built by Harland and Wolff, Ltd., at Glasgow, in 1961, who also supplied the ship's engines, Harland-B. and W. type oil engines, she has a speed of 16 knots.
She is one of a series of five sister ships built at Glasgow by Harland and Wolff between 1958 and 1961, the others being the Bankura and Bulimba (1959) and the Barpeta (1960) and Bamora (1961), all employed on various British India services.
