DELEDDA ferry

Built as a ro-ro ferry under yard No.4345 by Italcantieri S.p.A. Castellammare di Stabia, Italy, for Tirrenia di Navigazione S.p.A. Naples, Italy.
26 May 1977 launched under the name DELEDDA. (web-site has 26 June 1977)
Tonnage 7.222 gross, 3.804, 2.014 dwt., dim. 131.02 x 20.07 x 5.61m. (draught)
Powered by two 16 cyl. GMT diesel engines, manufactured by Grandi Motori, Trieste, 19.200 bhp., speed 20.5 knots. Twin screws
Passenger accommodation for 1000 passengers. 490 berths.
Could carry 24 trailers and 100 cars.
1978 delivered.

Used in the ferry service between Civitavecchia and Olbia.
12 Dec. 1980 at Naples damaged by fire. Repaired at Genoa.

1994 Sold to Zong Yang Shipping at Dalian, China, renamed ZHONG YUAN.
2008 sold to Bangladesh shipbreakers, arriving Chittagon 25 February 2008.
