SINOE and TIRNAVA trawlers

On this stamp of Romania are depict two stern trawler factory ships, used in the 1977 krill expedition.

The vessel in the foreground of the stamp is the SINOE built 1969 under yard No. B22/08 on the yard of Stocznia Gdanska at Gdansk for the Polish Government
Launched under the name LEO, but before delivery sold to Min. Ind. Alimentare, Romania, and renamed SINOE. Managed by Navrom. She was one of the Carina types of which 17 were built for Polish and Romanian accounts.
Tonnage 2691 gross, 1.041 net, 1.784 dwt., dim. 88.0 x 14.5 x 5.6m.
Bulbous bow.
Powered by two 12 cyl. vee oil Cegielski/Fiat diesels, 2.500 bhp., speed 13.5 knots.
Four 1.5 ton derricks, four holds/hatches.

1994 Sold by Cia. Romana de Pescuit Oceanic, Romania, to Kalkavanlar Gemi Sokum Ticaret A.S., Turkey for scrap, and she arrived at Aliaga 19 Dec. 1994.
Scrapping commenced 16 Jan. 1995.


The other is one of the Super Atlantik Ludwig Turek types.
Built-in 1976 under yard No. 222 on the yard of Volkswerft Stralsund at Stralsund, Germany for the Romanian Government (Min. Ind. Alimentare).
Launched under the name TIRNAVA.
Tonnage 3.171 gross1.830 net, 2.020 dwt., dim. 101.9 x 15.2 x 5.6m. Length between p.p. 91.7m.
Powered by one 8 cyl. DMR, 3.880 bhp., speed 15 knots.

End 2001 still sailing under that name.
2007 Can not find of she is still around, her IMO No is 7608667.
07 June 2012 deleted by Lloyds, existence in doubt.
