She was built under yard No.1182 by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Kobe, Japan for Frontier Cruises Ltd.
26 Jan. 1990 keel laid down
17 June 1990 launched under the name FRONTIER SPIRIT. (IMO No. 8907424)
Tonnage 6.752 gross, 2.073 net, 1.226 dwt, dim. 111.51 x 17.25 x 4.44m (draught), length between p.p. 98m.
Powered by two sets middle speed 8-cyl. four stroke single acting Daihatsu diesel engines, each maximum 3.300 bhp., normal 2.085 bhp., speed 17 knots, twin controllable pitch propellers.
Passenger accommodation when built 184 and 88 crew.
Fitted out with a helicopter platform on the upper deck.
Registered in the Bahamas with homeport Nassau.
06 Nov. 1990 entered service.


She was special built as an expedition-cruise vessel for the American and European markets. She will be used in the unexplored regions, like the Galapagos Islands, Amazon River and Polynesia, in addition of the Antarctic, Arctic and Alaska cruises during the summer season. To enter shallow bays and rivers she has little draught.
1993 Sold to JG Maritime Ltd., Bahamas and renamed BREMEN.
HAPAG-LLOYD A.G., Hamburg from April 1994 for two years, chartered her.
After a refurbishment, she has now passenger accommodation for 164, in 82 cabins and a crew of 94.
She visited 01 February 2001 Pitcairn Island.

30 June 2006 sold to Hapag-Lloyd, Bahamas and managed by Hapag_Lloyd Cruiseship, at Hamburg, Germany.
IMO No. 8907424.
2016 http://www.equasis.org gives same name, owner and manager.
