Built by Randall at Rotherhithe for account of Gilbert Slater.
26 Nov. 1787 launched under the name TRITON.
Tonnage 800 55/94 tons (bm), dim. 116.0 x 36.1 x 14.9ft.
Ship rigged.

05 April 1788 chartered by the British East India Company for a return voyage to the Coromandel Coast and Bengal, she made that voyage under command of Capt. William Agnew. Returned to the U.K. and charter was terminated on 26 May 1789.
05 Jan 1790 chartered again by the EIC, for a return voyage to Coromandel Coast and China, after her return in England her charter was terminated on 30 June 1791.
13 Jan. 1793 chartered by EIC for a return voyage to Coromandel Coast and China, this time under command of Capt. Philip Burnyeat, after her return charter was terminated on 19 Sept. 1794.
09 July 1795 again chartered by the EIC for a return voyage to the Coromandel Coast and Bengal, under command of Capt. David Dunlop, charter terminated 30 Sept. 1799.
29 Jan. 1796 She was cut out of Balasore Roads at the mouth of the River Hoogly by a French privateer, whilst waiting for the pilot. Captain Philip Burnyeat? (strange, the book gives she sailed under command of Capt. David Dunlop, most probably Capt. Burnyeat joined the vessel somewhere on the English coast, and the vessel sailed out under command of the Chief Officer Dunlop) was killed in the action and the command was taken over by the Chief Officer David Dunlop.
24 June 1798 arrived at Madras after retaken by the Royal Navy. Thereafter sold in the local coastal trade, most probably after 30 Sept. 1799.
05 March 1801 arrived at London with a cargo of rice as an extra ship for the EIC.
Fate unknown.
