SEABOURN PRIDE cruise vessel

Built as a passenger vessel under yard No 1065 by Schichau-Seebeckwerft, Bremerhaven. Germany for Seabourn Cruise Line A/S, Oslo, Norway.
22 July 1988 launched as the SEABOURN PRIDE, two sister ships.
Tonnage 9.975 grt, 3.023 net, 800 dwt. Dim. 133.4 x 20.5 x 6.6m., length bpp. 112.4m, draught 5.41m.
Powered by four Normo-Bergen diesel engines, 7.280 kW., speed 19.3 knots.
Passenger accommodation 212, crew 164.
18 November 1988 delivered.

November 1988 maiden voyage but before the ship was christened by the former child star Shirley Temple Black
Used for world wide cruising, in elegant and spacious outside suites.
Fitted out with a complete health spa and physical fitness centre, swimming pool, restaurant for one sitting only, lounges and indoor and outdoor verandas.
Observation lounge for viewing the sky at night and another for viewing underwater marine life.
Casino, shops, boutique and a library.

2002 Transferred to Bahamas flag and registry, homeport Nassau.
2005 Underwent a refurbishment, to keep up with the luxurious image of the Seabourn cruises.

She is now fitted out with a Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD), designed as a non-lethal method to fend off pirate attacks.

In 2006 in a Forbes.com article was her New Year Cruise declared the most expensive in the category.
