PRINZESSIN HEINRICH paddle steamer 1896

Built as a paddle-wheeler under yard no 116 by Blohm & Voss, Hamburg for the Ballin’s Dampfschiffs-Rhederei Gesellschaft, Hamburg.
Launched under the name PRINZESSIN HEINRICH.
Tonnage 919 gross, 322 net, dim. 76.3 x 8.3 (over paddle boxes 14.0m)x 2.6m. (draught)
Triple expansion 3 cyl. Steam engine, manufactured by builder, 416 nhp., speed 16 knots.
Passenger accommodation for 1100
06 June 1896 delivered to owners.

Built for the service from Northern Germany to Helgoland.
1897 The company was renamed in Nordsee-Linie Dampfschiffahrts A.G., Hamburg.
1904 Chartered by the Hamburg America Line (HAPAG) for daytrips from Genoa to San Remo, Nice and Monaco.
1905 Sold to HAPAG at Hamburg and used in the HAPAG-Seebäderdienst, used in this service until outbreak of World War I, then laid up. After the war used in the same service.
1920 Used in the Sea service from Prussian ports in the Baltic.
1923 Broken up by the Köhlbrandwerft, Hamburg.
