Built in 1914 by Philip & Son Ltd., Dartmouth, England for the Colonial Guyana Government.
Launched under the name LUKANANI, named after a fish found in Guyana waters.
Tonnage 179 gross, 99 net, 107dwt, dim. 32.61 x 6.86 x 2.44m. (draught)
Most probably fitted out with a steam engine in 1914.
1949 Steam-engine was replaced with two 6-cyl. Carterpillar engines, manufactured by Carterpillar Tractor Co., Peoria, 460 hp., twin screws, speed 10 knots.
Accommodation for 390 passengers on coastal voyages and 682 on river voyages.
Also could carry 7 cars.

1949 Rebuilt by Spronstons Ltd., Georgetown.
Lloyds Register 1989/90 deleted her, but http://www.guyana.org/NDS/chap38.htm still mentioned her in 1994.
At that time she is used in the service between Stanleytown and Ituni on the Berbice River.
1995 The cost was too high for the government of Guyana and she was sold to a private company, who continued the service, till they also were running in economic difficulties.
2005 She is moored on the off shore of Rosignal, and was bought by a local saw miller.
