POMEROON

Built as passenger- cargo vessel under yard No 309 by Ferguson Bross, Port Glasgow for the Colonial Government of Guyana.
08 February 1936 launched under the name POMEROON, named after one of Guyana’s rivers.
Tonnage 287 gross, 121net, 287dwt., dim. 132.1 x 29.1 x 7.6ft. (draught).
Powered by two 6-cyl. oil engines, manufactured by Davey, Paxman & Co. Ltd., Colchester, 808 hp, twin screws, speed 11 knots.
Accommodation for 688 passengers.
January 1936 completed.

She is still in Lloyds Register 72/73 but not more mentioned in 81/82 register.
