The 3 Ft. air stamp issued in 1947 shows the harbour of Thany, on the similarly named peninsula on the eastern side of Lake Platten. In the foreground is the racing yacht Falcone, a European 30-class craft, with keel and cabin. Her length is 105 metres, with a beam of 2.5 m, draft of 1.3 m., and a sail area of 30 square metres. The yacht, owned by Hugo Gregerson, a well-known Hungarian architect and his wife, Alice Lux, a sculptress, was built in 1936-37 at the Balatonfured shipyard. She has 11 sisters on the Platten. The drawing shows the yacht in a very dangerous position apparently sailing into a head wind too near to the jetty for safety, while the sails are badly set. The small yacht in the background is one of Kaloz "Pirate" types, a very popular craft on the Platten.
