HMS MYRMIDON 1819.
A 6th rate of 20 guns. Built by Milford Dockyard 18.6.1813 was broken up in 1823.
N.B. Was 2nd ship of name, between 1798 and 1964. Eight ships bore the name.

Built as a 6th Rate by the Milford Dry-dock for the Royal Navy.
02 August 1811 ordered.
July 1812 keel laid down.
18 June 1813 launched as the HMS MYRMIDON.
Tonnage 509 ton (bm), dim. 36.30 x 9.17 x 3.59m, length of keel 30.21m, draught 3.14m.
Armament when built 2 – 9pdrs . and 18 – 32 pdrs. carronades.
04 July 1813 completed. 06February 1814 fitting out completed in Plymouth.
August 1813 commissioned under command of Captain Henry Bourchier.
06 February 1815 she arrived from the Western Islands, (Orkneys) with dispatches.
24 July 1815 arrived Torbay, south coast England together with the HMS BELLEROPHON, which has Napoleon Bonaparte and General Bertrand and others on board.
11 August 1815 sailed as part of the Northumberland’s squadron for St Helena.
26 August 1815 arrived at Plymouth.
October 1815 paid off when she was under command of Captain Robert Gambier.
1817 Was she in the Mediterranean and again paid off in 1819.
26 March 1819 on the African station and on anti-slavery patrol, detained on 25 January 1820 off the River Manna the Portuguese slave vessel SAN SALVADOR.
17 June 1921 was expected at Ascension for a refit,
July 1821 examined 16 vessels in the Bight of Benin which were considered to be capable of carrying slaves.
September 1821 detained two Spanish slave ships the CARIDAD and NUEVA VIRGEN.
15 April 1922 officers and crew in ship’s boats of MYRMIDON captured 6 vessels involved in the slave trade.
27 April 1822 detained in position 04 31N 08 37E the Portuguese slave vessel DEFENSORA.
October 1822 paid off.
10 January 1823 breaking up completed at Portsmouth.
