11 February 2004 was she caught when she deliberately polluted France’s Mediterranean waters. Aerial photos were produced at the court at Marseille in September 2004, which showed an 18km long 50-meter wide slick behind the vessel off Cap Sicie near Seyne-sur-Mer in the vicinity of Toulon.
The master received a one-year suspended sentence and a fine of EUR 15.000; the United Arab Shipping Co. was fined EUR 485.000.

The container vessel KHALED IBN AL WALEED was sold by undisclosed Tuvalu flag interest to Hanyana Ship Breakers Ltd., India.
19 February 2012 she arrived under the name WALEED at Alang.( most probably she carried that name for the delivery voyage to the breakers.)
