Built as a cargo-passenger vessel in 1905 under yard no 268 by the Grangemouth & Greenock Dockyard Co at Grangemouth, England, for Samuel Hough Ltd. (R.G.Hough) at Liverpool.
Launched under the name SAMUEL HOUGH.
Powered by a triple expansion steamengine manufactured by D.Rowan & Co., Glasgow, speed 10 knots, ? hp.
Delivered to owners in May 1905.
1913 Sold to Burns, Philp & CO Ltd., and registered at Sydney, renamed "MARSINA"
Under Australian register her tonnage is given as 1.948 BRT, 1.010 NRT.
02 Feb. 1914, arrived under command of Capt Sayers for the first time at Sydney.
Employed in most services of Burns, Philp including Lord Howe Island, New Hebrides, Papua, Woodlarks. New Guinea and Salomon Islands.
01 May 1914, sailed for the first voyage for Burns, Philp & Co. from Sydney under command of Capt. Weatherall for Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island and New Hebrides.
During World War I used by the army and placed in the Papua-Rabaul area. Nov. 1931, laid up.
Feb. 1932, sold to James Patrick & Co., Sydney, renamed "CRAIGEND" in March 1932.
Feb. 1937, sold to Yih Zeu Fong, Shanghai, (a other source gives Z.F.Yih a Chinese), renamed "HAI PING".
She was abandoned on 15 March 1937 on her delivery voyage off Double Island Point, Queensland, and subsequently foundered on a voyage from Newcastle NSW to Rabaul and Shanghai loaded with coal.
