The stamp is designed after a painting made by the famous maritime Russian painter Ivan Aivazovsky (1817-1900), but only the ship on the left is depicted.
The name of this Russian warship under full sail is not known to me, but the painting shows the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the Bay of Theodosia, just before the Crimean War.
