Built as a A/H tug/supply vessel under yard No 1163 by D.W. Kremer Sohn G.m.b.H. & Co., Elmshorn, Germany for K.S. Viking Supply Ships A/S., Norway
Launched as the GORM VIKING.
Tonnage 499.61 grt., 173.78 net, 758dwt., dim. 61.20 x 13.0 x 4.52m., length bpp. 52.8m.
Powered by two MAK diesels 8.000 bhp., twin screws, speed 14.5 knots.
Daily consumption 12 mt/day by a speed of 12 knots.
Bunker capacity 700 m³.
Accommodation for 11 persons.
Ice strengthened.
June 1975 completed.

1986 Converted to research vessel with a tonnage of 1.435 grt.
1987 Sold to Kanora Oy AB, Finland and renamed VIKING.

May 1988 Sold to Stichting Gentu (Greenpeace), Netherlands, renamed GONDWANA. Named after the prehistoric continent, which amongst others comprised a large part of the present Antarctica.

She was converted by the Oranjewerf in Amsterdam for her roll as a relief and supply vessel to the Greenpeace Antarctic base at Ross Island in the McMurdo Sound in the Antarctic.
Fitted out with a bow-thruster.
Her equipment as an anchor handling ship was removed. On deck a hangar was built for two helicopters, it was possible for the helicopters to land on the top deck of the hangar when needed.
Accommodation increased to 32 persons.
Four Viking 20 persons inflatable liferafts were added. The mainmast was replaced by a heavier one, who could carry the Satcom antenna.
She was classed as a yacht with homeport Amsterdam.
Her first voyage from Amsterdam was to New Zealand for her first voyage to the Antarctic.

1994 Sold to Sayani Enterprises Pte. Ltd., Honduras, renamed NABEEL.
1994 Reverted back to a tug-supply vessel, tonnage 1.137 grt, 341 net, 570dwt.
2000 Sold to Kitomer Shipping Co. Ltd., Belize, renamed GONDWANA.
February 2009 sold to Sumatra Bull Marine Ltd., Virgin Islands, renamed in OLYMPIC AMERICA.

2009 In service as given by http://www.equasis.org same name and owners, under Tuvalu flag and registration port Funafuti, managed by Singapore Star Shipping Pte, Singapore. IMO No 7401320.

2011 Sold by Sumatra Bull Marine Ltd. (Singapore Star Shipping Pte. Ltd), Tuvalu to Salgavkar Engineering Pvt. Ltd, India, and arrived Alang 05 February 2011, she was beached for scrapping on 12 February 2011.
