May 1738 commissioned under command of Captain Thomas Durell for service as a guardship at Plymouth.
May 1739 fitted out for foreign service in Portsmouth.
June 1739 recommissioned under command of Captain Thomas Trevor, sailed 23 July 1739 with Vernon’s fleet to the West Indies.
21 November 1739 at Puerto Bello.
From February until April 1740 Vernon’s flagship.
23 March 1740 as flagship by the attack on Chagres and on 03 April 1740 at the operations at Cartagena.
August 1742 sailed from the West Indies for Great Britain.
June 1743 till April 1744 under repair and fitting out at Chatham.
1744 Recommissioned under command of Edward Legge and a unit of Balchen fleet in August and September 1744.
1745 Sailed for Jamaica a unit of Vice Admiral Davers squadron.
1746 Under command of Captain Cornelius Mitchell.
From 4 -13 August 1746 underway with a British convoy he encounter a French convoy under command of Comte de Conflans, Mitchell did not attack the French warships and Conflans with his convoy reached safely Brest. Mitchell was dismissed of his command.
1747 Under command of Captain James Rentone took part in the attack on Port Louis on 8 March 1748 in which Rentone was killed.
March 1748 under command of Captain David Brodlie at Santiago on 05 April 1748.
01 October 1748 in action with the British Jamaica squadron against the Spanish Havana squadron under command of Reggio (Battle of Havana.).
July 1749 decommissioned at Chatham.
16 August 1749 surveyed.
15 November 1755 declared unfit for service.
11 August 1756 by Admiralty orders sunk as a breakwater at Sheerness in 1756.
