The story of the wooden sailing vessel MINERVA is a favourite in Bermuda’s sea-going lore.
Built in Bermuda of cedar wood.
She sailed from Bermuda bound for Africa, but in 1851 she was discovered off Bermuda near Ely’s Harbour drifting and unmanned.
There is still a mystery how the MINERVA could return to her homeport without any crew on board.
What has happened with the vessel afterwards is also a mystery for my. More info on her is welcome.
