The yacht depict on this stamp is the French yacht La POSTE designed by Frers & Beneteau.
A yacht with a displacement of 23 tons, length of 51 feet (15.45m) beam 14 ft (4.26m)
She took part in the Whitbread Round the World Race 1989-1990. A race of 6 stages with a total distance of around 33,000 miles, starting and finishing in Portsmouth, U.K. Stops were in Punta del Este Uruguay, Fremantle, Australia, Auckland, New Zealand, Punta del Este, Fort Lauderdale, U.S.A.
21 Yachts took part in this race.

The La POSTE was sponsored by the French Postal Administration and crewed with 8 postal workers under skipper Daniel Malle. Not one of the men was an experienced sailor.

The La POSTE finished last in this race in 181 days, 22 hours, 56 minutes.

After this race I can not find any trace more of the yacht.
