Built as a paddle steamer by Escher, Wyss & Cie., Zurich for the Oberländischen Dampfschifffahrt-Gesellschaft.
1906 Launched as BLÜMLISALP, named after mountain range Blüemlisalp in the Berner Oberland.
Displacement 294 ton, dim. 60.45 x 13.15 x 1.58m.
One 2-cyl. compound steam engine, 650 hp, speed 26k/hr.
Accommodation for 1,000 passengers.
Building cost 375,000 Fr.
After completing used in the service on Lake Thun as flagship of the company.
01 August 1971 out of service, at that time she was Switzerland’s last coal-fired paddle steamer.
For around 20 year she lay slowly rotting away in Kanderdelta a remote spot on the lake.
1975 Bought by the organization Vaporama, with the intention to use her as a centrepiece in a museum in Thun. But not much work was done and she stayed in her remote spot.
1990 Work commenced to restore her to her old glory, and on 22 May 1992 she made her second maiden voyage.
2011 She is now in service from April till October, and owned by Vaporama.
