Built as a steel hulled side-paddle steamer between 1972/74 at the Sturts Marine, Hindmarsh Island near Goolwa on the River Murray for Murray River Queen Pty. Ltd.
27 July 1972 floated out as the MURRAY RIVER QUEEN.
Tonnage 879 grt, 300 ton displacement, dim. 160 x 26 x 7.9ft, over paddle boxes 39ft., draught 3 ft.
Powered by two Scandia diesel engines each 200 hp
Accommodation for 72 passengers. 36 cabins. Crew 17
22 March 1974 completed.
Used between Goolwa and Swan and makes weekly trips.
2012 In service, not cruising but available for accommodation.
2023 In use as a floating restaurant at Renmark.
