29 April 1972 launched as the SNOW STORM. Seven sisters.
Tonnage 11,422 grt, 5,053 net, 12,782 dwt., dim. 173.3 x 24.7m, length between pp. 160.0m.
Powered by two single-acting 8-cyl. Sulzer-CCM diesel engines, 23,200 bhp, twin shafts, speed 22 knots.
She is fitted with side doors for loading bananas, five holds and five hatches.
Total reefer capacity 609,000 cubic feet.
October 1972 completed.
Used as a reefer vessel world-wide. At that time she and her sisters were the largest and fastest refrigerated fruit ships in the world. Mostly built for the banana trade from the Caribbean to Europe, with on the return trip new or second hand cars.
1981 Sold to Spanocean Line Ltd. U.K. not renamed, managed still by Salén Reefer Services.
1984 When Salén went bankrupt, sold to Irano-Hind Shipping Co., Ltd, Bandar Abbis, Iran and renamed HOOD.
2000 Sold to Indian shipbreakers and arrived Alang on 15 August 2000.
