IRAN DASTGHAYB class bulkers

Post by aukepalmhof » Tue Aug 20, 2013 9:31 pm

From Mr. Sitnikov I received that the ship depict on this stamp is one of the Iran Dastghayb class and I agree. Stanley Gibbons and Watercraft Philately give her as a tanker, but she is a bulk ship.
All the ships of this class start with the first name IRAN.

Iran Shipping Lines built from 1984 a class of bulkers by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Eng. Co. Ltd. in Okpo, South Korea from which one is depict on the stamp, which ship is depict I don’t known, only that she was one from this class.

The first was built under yard 1008 as the IRAN DASTGHAYB.
Launched 28 May 1984 and completed in November 1984.
Tonnage 25,768 grt, 14,253 net, 43,369 dwt, dim. 190.0 x 30.0m, length bpp181.0m.
Powered by one diesel 2SA 6CY, 8,458 kW., speed 14.5 knots.
One deck
Four 25 ton cranes.
November 1984 delivered to owners.

2009 Was she in Rotterdam and carried the name ATTRIBUTE and Hong Kong flag.
2013 Sold to India for scrapping and reflagged to Comoros and renamed BLUE.

She had 19 sisters, the last built was the IRAN GHODOUSI delivered in 1986.
All this ships have the same details.

Most of these ships are reflagged and carry now other names.
