GLORIEUX 1756
GLORIEUX. Ship of the Line. 74 guns. French Navy. Built in 1756 at Rochefort. Keel laid 1753. She took part in the Battle of Ouiberon in1759. She was captured by the British at Battle of The Saints on 12th April 1782. Sank in gale September 1782. Stamp is one of strip of 5 se-tenant depicting Battle of The Saints - Anguilla 1971. 15c.
