FATE
FATE. Passenger. Second British Passenger ship to be sunk during WW2. In a convoy on 17th October 1939 she was torpedoed 250 miles off Cape Finisterre. Lost 58 crew and 33 Passengers. Surviving 220 were rescued by U.S. Freighter INDEPENDANCE HALL - Staffa 1974. Local Issue. NC (LB 13/475)
