VOLGA type hydrofoil

The hydrofoil depict on this stamp of East Germany issued for the 25th Anniversary of the East Germany police is one of the naval version made in the Soviet Union.
The lead ship was the VOLGA of project 343
The hydrofoil depict on the stamp is one of project 343ME of which many were made by the Gomel Shipyard, now Republic Belarus. The lead vessel of project 343ME was built on the Batumi SRMZ in Georgia
The hull was made of aluminium-magnesium alloy and riveted.
Dimensions: 8.5 x 2.1 x 0.85m, on foils 0.55m Displacement standard 1.316m, full load 1.846 ton.
Powered by one 90 hp Volvo diesel engine, speed 32 knots, range 180 km.
Crew 1, passengers 5.

The stamp was issued in 1970, so most probably the hydrofoil depict on the stamp is already scrapped.
1986 The type was taken out of service by the police service.
