Built as a salvage/icebreaker tug under yard No 157 by P.K.Harris, Appledore, U.K. for the Polish Ship Salvage Co. Szczecin, Poland.
Launched under the name PERKUN.
Tonnage 1.152 gross, 272 net, dim. 56.5 x 14.0m., length bpp. 48.8m.
Powered, diesel electric, 3.000 shp., twin screws, speed ?
Crew 35.
1963 Completed.

1993 Sold to Indian shipbreakers, passed Suez 17 March 1993 bound initially for Karachi.
1994 She was not broken up, but sold to Gulf Dev. Corp. E.C., Honduras and renamed SAPPHIRE N.M.
Thereafter she disappears, fate not known.

On Poland 1971 1z15 sg 2032, scott 1782.

Marine News 1993/696. 1994/557. Register of Merchant ships completed in 1963. Log Book.

14 September 1962 launched as PERKUN.
January 1963 completed.

12 June 1995 she arrived under the name SAPPHIRE N.M. at Gadani Beach by the scrapyard of Star Copper Corp. for scrapping.
