The pilot boat depict on this stamp is de EPERON D’OR at St. Peter Port, Guernsey.
04 December 1975 the EPERON D’OR came for the first time in service when she supplied a pilot to the cargo ship SALRIX.
She was built as a Mitchell Mark 1 type vessel and converted for use as a pilot boat for the Guernsey Pilots at Vazon, Guernsey. She was owned by the pilots themselves, as they are all self employed.
Built in Newhaven, G.B. when?
Tonnage 8 ton, dim. 31.92m length, draught 3.92m.
Powered by a Ford Thornycroft diesel engine, 128 hp, speed 10 knots.
A new pilot boat was in 1999 built, she came in service in 2000 under the name GOLDEN SPUR, where after the EPERON D’OR was over complete, what thereafter has happened with her is unknown by me.
