Argentina's famous yachtsman encircled the globe in 1943 in his 9.55 metre ketch Legh II, making the voyage from west to east, passing around Cape Horn on June 24, 1943. The ketch was designed by the renowned Manuel M. Campos. Vito Dumas was born in Buenos Aires on September 26, 1900 and died in Olivos, on March 28, 1965.
