The vessel on the stamp is the LIGURE FORTUNA, we do not know much about the vessel.
She was built in 1839 as a brig for the brothers Gattorno.
Used in the trade between Italia and the Black Sea.
She was a type of a small merchant vessel of that time of circa 200 tons.

Reported at Gallipoli in 1854 under captain N. De Gregori.

Text of paintings ex voto in the Sanctuary del Boschetto: The ship named Fortuna, captain Nicola Olivari in Sicilian waters 10th October 1860.
A terrible hurricane blew up and we were in danger of being lost when we were brought to safety thanks to Our Lady of Boschetto.
The above-mentioned captain dedicates this painting in devout homage and respect to Our Lady of Boschetto for having saved the ship.
