ALPINIST

Post by shipstamps » Tue Oct 28, 2008 4:50 pm

Some collectors give the name of PULKOVSKIY MERIDIAN to the trawler depict on the 6k, but she for sure is not depict on this stamp but the type is depict on the 10K stamp of the same set.

(The 4k of this set gives two coastal fishing vessels, any idea which type is depict?)

By looking trough Bruno and Klaus Bock’s book on page 178 is a trawler depict which looks exact as the stern trawler depict on the 6k stamp.
The book gives only two were built for Russian account, but later many more of this type has been built.

Both ships were built by Leninskaya Kuznitsa at Kiev in 1971 as a seiner/trawler.
Launched under the name ALPINIST yard No. 201 and SLAVJANOGORSK, I think the ALPINIST was the first vessels of the 503 project
Tonnage 686 grt, 216 net, 333 dwt., dim. 53.7 x 10.7 x 4.3m.
Not an engine type or horsepower given, speed 13 knots.
Homeport Nakhodka.

ALPINIST is given that she was deleted from Lloyds Register in 2004/05.

On Russia 1983 6k sg 5342.
