Booker Viking (Booker Line)

Built for the Booker Line by the Fredriksstad Mek. Verksted, Norway, and engined by the Horten yard, just across the Oslofjord from Fredriksstad, with Sulzer oil engines. She was delivered on June 23, 1967 and her maiden voyage commenced on July 1 of that year. The vessel operates on the Booker Line's service to the West Indies, loading at Liverpool and Glasgow for Tortola, St. Kitts, Antigua, Surinam, and Georgetown, Guyana.

Built as a cargo vessel under yard No 393 by Fredrikstad Mek Verksted, Frederikstad, Norway for the Booker Line, Liverpool.
31 March 1967 launched as the BOOKER VIKING, one sister BOOKER VANGUARD.
Tonnage open closed shelterdecker 3,692/5,333 grt, 1,753/2,564 net, 5,670/6,909 dwt. Dim. 403 x 57.4 x 21.6ft.
Powered by one Hovdeverft Sulzer diesel engine, 5,000 bhp., one propeller, speed 15 knots.
23 June 1967 delivered to owners.

01 July 1967 sailed for her maiden voyage in the liner service from Liverpool and Glasgow to Tortola, St Kitts, Antigua, Surinam, Georgetown and Guyana.
Outward bound she carry mainly general cargo, while homeward bound with sugar and other agricultural produce from those countries.

1980 Sold to Qatar National Nav. & Transport Ltd., Doha, renamed in AL AMIRAH.
1986 Sold for scrapping to Pakistan shipbreakers, Gadani Beach, where she arrived on 19 February 1986.
