27 April 1985 she arrived at the breakers yard at Yantai, China and was broken up.

From Mr. Peter Crichton I received a message that the vessel depict on this stamp issued by Brazil is not the COPACABANA but one of the four reefer sisterships the ALBERTO COCOZZA, FRIGO TEJO, FRIEGO TIETE or RAFAEL LOTITO.
The photo of the COPACABANA taken by Mr. Crichton in Liverpool Docks on 21 October 1973, the other photo I downloaded from the net and shows one of the class of four reefer vessels, and it shows clearly that the wrong ships name is on the stamp.
The four ships were all built by C.C.N Maua shipyard, Niteroi, Brazil., for Empr. De Navigation Aliance S.A., Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with details about the same for each ship.
ALBERTO COCOZZA built under yard 17.

13 June 1982 While on a ballast voyage from Hamburg to Ravenna, where she was due to load a cargo of frozen meat for Egypt She got on fire and after explosion in her engine room, she capsized and sank about 30 miles off Sant Antioco, Sardinia in a position 38 10N 07 04 E. Her crew were rescued by ro-ro vessel MATHILDA and landed at Leghorn, Italia.
