COMMANDANT BLAISON (F793) Aviso in French escort class ‑type A69. D'ESTIENNE D'ORVES class.
This class is intended for coastal anti‑submarine escort, but the ships can operate overseas, as the "COMMANDANT BLAISON" does, and for this purpose they can embark an extra detachment of an officer and 17 men.
Built by LORIENT dockyard.
Laid down: 15th November 1979. Launched 7th March 1981. Completed: 28th April 1982.
Displacement: 1,100 (1250 deep load). Dimensions: 80 x 10,30 x 5,30 (sonar). Machinery: 2 diesels SEMT‑Pielstick 2 shafts ‑ 12.000CV ‑ 24 kts.
Armament: 4MM (surf to surf) 40 Exocet ‑ 1/100 AA ‑ 2/20AA. 1‑375 ASM Rocket syst — + ASM T.Tubes. (2 on each side).
Compliment: 7 officers + 98 men.
