RAMOGE

Post by aukepalmhof » Sun Nov 28, 2010 8:00 pm

The stamps depict a small floating research craft of the Centre Scientifique de Monaco, specially equipped to monitor the quality of the waters in and around Monaco, accordance with the ROMOGE Treaty of cooperation among France, Italy and Monaco.
The name RAMOGE is derived from the area between Saint Raphael to the west, Monaco and to the east too Genoa , as seen on the 1.00 stamp, later the area was extended from Marseille to La Spezia.
The treaty was signed in 1967 between France, Monaco and Italy.
Not any info on the research vessel, on the superstructure is painted RO MO GE, , while on the stern of the 1986 stamp is painted the name RAMOGE.

Anny info on the craft specifications and where built welcome.
