DOM CARLOS (A-522) 1989

Built as a surveillance ship under yard No 448 by Tacomo Boatbuilding Company, Tacoma, for the USA Navy.
29 February 1988 laid down.
28 January 1989 launched as the USNS AUDACIOUS (T-AGOS-11). One of the Stalwart-class Modified Tactical Auxiliary General Ocean Surveillance Ship.
Displacement 1,565 ton standard, 2,535 tons full load. Dim. 68.27 x 13 x 4.6m.
Powered diesel electric by four diesels, 3,200 bhp., twin shafts, speed 11 knots.
Armament None.
Crew 18 civilian mariners and 15 navy.
18 June 1989 completed.

The Stalwart-class was original designed to collect underwater acoustical data in support of Cold war anti-submarine warfare operations in the 1980s.
She was renamed T-AGOS-11 date unknown.
09 December 1996 decommissioned.
06 February 1997 struck from the navy list.

09 December 1996 under the Security Assistance Program transferred to Portugal. Renamed DOM CARLOS (A-522).
Refitted in a survey/research ships.

2022 In service in the Portuguese Navy.

Portugal 2010 0.32 Euro and 0.68 Euro sg?, Scott? (For the lighthouse collectors the cape is St Vincent, Portugal with the lighthouse.)
