NAU OF KING MANUEL THE FIRST 1498

Post by aukepalmhof » Tue Mar 15, 2011 8:31 pm

The ships used during the reign of King Manuel the First (1495-1521) were very haughty units, possessing very large holds but were slow moving ships, and not sailing very well close to the wind.
They were employed generally for the transportation of spices and other goods from India towards the Portuguese continent.
