Built in 1926 as a paddle steamer under yard No 900 by Sachsenburg at Köln-Deutz for the DGNM in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Completed as the RHEINLAND.
Tonnage 225 ton, dim. 79.1 x 8.2/14.9m., draught 1.45m.
1-2-cyl. compound diagonal steam engine, manufactured by Sachsenburg, Rosslau/Elbe, 720 hp., speed 17/27 km.
Passengers 2,300.
She was in operation on the River Rhine until 1982, where after she was used as a reserve vessel.
She was built as an express steamer, with deck saloons fore and aft and a fore saloon on the upper deck
12 March 1945 was she sunk by gunfire at Kaiserwerth.
1951 Extensively reconditioned, with a modern profile and an almost full length saloon on the upper deck.
1956 Converted to oil firing.
1965 Sold to Köln-Dusseldorfer GmbH (KD) at Köln. Renamed in RUDESHEIM.
Passengers 2,500.
After 1981 used as reserve vessel and during the summer seasons as a landing stage for the excursion motorship DOMSPATZ at Köln.
1993 Sold to Nederlandsche Radarstoomboot Maatschappij, Rotterdam for planned further service from Rotterdam, renamed PRINS DER NEDERLANDEN. (Not sure she ever has sailed under that name)
1999 Was she restored and operational, renamed DE MAJESTEIT.
Tonnage now 176 ton, dim. 82.50 x 15.66 x 1.45m. (draught) Engine power now given as 750 hp.
Used as a charter and party boat on the Maas and around the Rotterdam harbours, she offers quality cuisine and live entertainment.
2011 In service.
