CALEDONIA 1876

Built as an iron cargo-passenger vessel under yard No 117 by Cunliffe & Dunlop at the Inch Yard, Port Glasgow for Aberdeen Steam Navigation Co., Aberdeen.
16 September 1876 launched as the HOGARTH.
Tonnage 567 gross, 385 net, dim. 59.47 x 7.99 x 4.27m.
Powered by a compound 2 cyl. steam engine, manufactured by the shipbuilders, 150 nhp, one screw, speed?
September 1876 completed.

Built for the service between Aberdeen and London.
August 1878 sold to the London & South Western Railway Co., Southampton renamed CALEDONIA.
19February 1881 she struck Oyster Rock off St Helier, Jersey on a voyage from Southampton to St Helier. She sank on 02 April 1881and was sold for £140 to Gautier de Ste Croix of St Helier, they salvaged the engine and boiler for scrap.
