The SERBIA (SRBIJA) was built on the yard of Christof Ruthof, Regensburg, Germany under yard No 607 for the Süddeutsche Dounau-Dampfschiffarth-AG, Deggendorf (company was owned from 1910 by the Austrian Government).
1917 Launched under the name ISTER.

Powered by a steam-engine 1,200 hp.
After completing handed over to the K.U.K. Central Transport.
During the autumn of 1919 did Serbia soldiers in South Hungary capture her.
On 02 September 1921 as reparations to Serbian ownership, renamed SERBIA.
She was among the most powerful steam tugs on the Danube River, and mostly used in the narrows of the Eisernern Tor.
She was captured by the occupying German army in 1941 and used by them during the occupation; the liberation forces retook her in 1944. After that she greatly contributed to the national liberation army in the final struggle for liberation as a troop transport and supply ship.
She remained in service until 1972, making her last voyage on 20 October 1972.
