Built as whale catcher under yard No 13 by Akt. Jarlsö Vaerft, Tönsberg, Norway for the Hektor Whaling Co.
Launched under the name SMITH.
Tonnage 212 gross, 62 net, 310 dwt. Dim. 36.70 x 6.71 x 4.27m, draught 3.63m.
One 3-cyl. triple expansion steamengine manufactured by Kaldnaes MV Tònsberg, 69 nhp. One shaft speed?
1925 Completed, Norwegian flag and register.
Most probably used as a whale catcher by the company at their whaling station on Deception Island in the Antarctic, they got there a lease for a whaling station from the British Government from 1921 and the station was closed in 1931 when there was a big slump in oil price.
1938 Sold to Compania Argentina de Navegacion Mihanovich Ltda, Buenos Aires and renamed in LEGADOR, she was refitted in a tug.
1942 Transferred to Compania Argentina de Navegacion Dodero S.A., Buenos Aires, net renamed.
05 August 1949 transferred to F.A.N.U. (Flota Argentina de Navegacion de Ultramar, not renamed.
01 August 1959 transferred to F.A.N.F. (Flota Argentina de Navegacion Fluvial) a branch of the E.F.F.E.A, (Flota Fluvial del Estado Argentine) (River Fleet of Navigation Argentina.) not renamed.
19? Was she taken out of the Argentina register, fate unknown most probably scrapped or abandoned.
