RODMAN -55M class (Guardia Civil)

For the 150th Anniversary of the Spanish Guardia Civil, the Spanish post used one stamp which shows in the left under a Guardia Civil patrol craft, which was identified by Mr. Mario Rosner as one of Rodman-55M class.

The patrol boat belonging to the Spanish Guardia Civil depict on this stamp is one of the Rodman-55M class of which 14 units have been built for the Spanish Guardia Civil between 1991 - 1996, with No M01 to M14, which craft depict is unknown. Internally she is known as the Baltico class.
The class was built by Rodman Polyships, Vigo, Spain.
Displacement 17.5 ton. Dim. 16.50 x 3.80 x 0.70m.
Powered by two Bazan-MAN D2848 LXE diesels which power two Hamilton waterjets, 1,360 bhp, speed 35 knots.
One of this class the M01 sank in 2002 in the Strait of Gibraltar.
In 2006 two of this class were donated to the Mauritanian Gendarmerie and a third was donated to Senegal.
The Paraguayan and Suriname Government ordered both 5 craft of this class.
2012 were 10 of this class still in service by the Guardia Civil.
