Small, plank-built boat used on the lakes of Kashmir as a taxi,general workboat, bumboat, sightseeing craft, and fishing boat; a small size (bunduql shikari) is used for wildfowling. Sides taper toward the overhanging bow and stern; one or both ends sometimes open;sides may flare outward at bow; low freeboard. Those used by fishermen have a platform at the stern. Some have a canopy forward. Steered with a scull or small paddle.Paddled from the stem. Reported lengths 5-11m;e.g.,length 11m, beam 1.0m, depth 0.3m.
