FU SHING

.Built as a suction dredger under yard No 1400 by F.Schichau in Danzig for the Whangpoo Conservancy Board, Shanghai, China.
02 April 1938 launched as FU SHING (Miramar gives it as FU-SHING.).
Tonnage 5,710 gross, 2,248 net, 5,188 dwt. Dim. 127.0 x 19.0 x 5.7m. (draught), length bpp.121.9m.
Powered by two triple expansion steam engine, 4,450 ihp, two shafts, speed 11 knots.
For the pumps one triple expansion steam engine,2,210 ihp. Coal fired.
Dredging depth 13.5 m.
Hopper hold 3,400 cubic meter.
August 1938 trials.
January 1939 completed but not delivered to Shanghai.

At that time was she the largest suction dredger in the world.
22 July 1941 acquired by the German Navy.
16 August 1943 transferred to the German air-force in Kiel.
22 August 1944 returned to the German Navy.
January 1945 moved to Greifswalder Bodden and most probably scuttled as block ship.
Later salvaged by the Soviet Union and in service in Russia.
After 1946 not more any trace of the vessel.

From Mr. Gennadiy Sitnikov I received that she was used thereafter in Odessa and was renamed ZEMLESOS-20 what means "to suck earth".
