BRAMBLE. Gunboat CLASS 1. Built by Potter of Liverpool for the Royal Navy. Launched 1898. Laid down 1st December 1897. Commissioned on 20th November 1898. L 180' B33'. Dr8' (54.86 x 10.06 x 2.44 m) Displacement 710 tons. Triple expansion engine by 'Fawcett, Preston & Co. 1300ihp. 2 screws. 13.5kn.
Armament Two 4". Four 12pdr. guns and Ten maxims. Complement 85. Sisters BRITOMART, DWARF and THISTLE. Steel sheathed and coppered. 1 funnel. 2 masts with military tops on each. Coal capacity 50 tons. Boilers by Yarrow. Sold 6th October 1920 at Bombay, renamed SAKUNTALA.
