SAKHALIN type ferry

The vessel depict on the envelope is one of the Sakhalin 1809 project. She carry the name SAKHALIN with a no. The type was built from 1973 till 1992, the latest ships SAKHALIN-8 till 10 have a tonnage of 9,346 grt, but she were built after the envelope was issued.
When the envelope was issued the SAKHALIN-1 till 5 were in service. Which ship is depict is unknown it is one of the class.

Built as a pax ro-ro ferry by the Yantar shipyard in Kaliningrad, Russia for the Sakhalin Shipping.
Tonnage 5,025 grt, 1,646 nrt, 2,427 dwt. Dim. 127.3 x 20.32 x 6.6m.
Powered diesel electric by four 6-cyl. Russki diesel engines,15,600 hp, one screw aft one forward., speed 18 knots.
Accommodation for 72 passengers, and 26 freight cars.
Homeport Kholmsk.

Used in the service between Kholmsk, Sakhalin Island to the Russian mainland.

The SAKHALIN 1 to 5 are scrapped, most in Calcutta, India.
