ELFANTEN. Danish Ship of the Line. Built in 1741. Stamp depicts figurehead, from a model housed in the Danish Naval Museum. The ship saw active service in 1760. In 1802 during the war between England and Denmark she was grounded as a block ship and battery to protect the harbour entrance to Copenhagen - Denmark 1970. 300. SG517 (LB6/101. 7/128)
