The Russian war-ship in the margin in the foreground of this sheet for the 300th anniversary of the Baltic Fleet is identified by Mr. Sitnikov as one of the Bora Class hoverborne guide missile corvettes of which two has been built for the Russian Navy. The BORA was all her time a unit of the Black Sea Fleet, while the SAMUN from commission till 25 July 2002 a unit of the Baltic Fleet was and thereafter transferred to the Black Sea.
So most probably the SAMUN is depict on this souvenir sheet.
The stamp of the souvenir sheet features the copy of the picture "Capture of two Swedish battleships GEDAN and ASTRILD by Russians at the Neva delta on May 7, 1703" painted in 1866 by A.P.Bogolyubov
Both were built at the JSC Zelenodolsk yard named after A.M. Gorky in Kazan, USSR for the Russian Navy.
The intended name of the first one was SIVUCH but I can not find if she was in service under that name. She is now sailing under the name BORA (615). (She has carried also other pennant No’s.)
