Built as a two masted wooden herring drifter in 1903 by the yard of McIntos of Portessie & Lanstown , Scotland for skipper Alexander MacLeod at Knock Point, Stornaway.
May 1903 launched as the MUIRNEAG SY 486. (Darling Girl.) She last of the Zulu class built vessels http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_e ... y#The_Zulu
Tonnage about 100 tons. Dim. 24.99 x 6.40 x 3.65m., length of keel 18.59m.
Built with a raked stern and a straight bow.
Building cost around £500 including the spars.

She was used in the fisheries until the outbreak of World War II, without any auxiliary engine, and she was the last British herring drifter to fish under sail power alone. During her sailing days she was a very safe boat even under very bad weather conditions.
1947 Was she sold in Storneway for £50 where she was dismantled and her wood used for fence posts.
