Built as a strong wooden hulled half-deck fishing vessel by Messrs Clucas & Duggan at Ramsey, Isle of Man for Mr. W, Shakley, Whitehaven, England
29 January 1896 launched as the MASTER FRANK, named after his son.
Length on deck 38.50ft, beam 10.50ft.
Rigged as a cutter.
Built as a long-liner for the cod fisheries.
Shakley did not keep her long after three months was she purchased by the Kinnin family and she returned to Ramsey.
1964 Was she sold by Willie Kinnin to Charles Gaines, in 1969 was she again bought by the Kinnins, and they were the owners until 1976.
1976 Sold to Captain Stephen Carter who used her still as a fishing vessel.
1978 She was sold to two teachers from the Albert Road School, Phil Kelly and Dave Richards.
1986 She was sold to the Manx Heritage Foundation, with the intention that the Foundation would restore her. But it failed and she lay in Ramsey for two years idle. Then she was taken to Peel, where she sat in the boat park until July 1993, and an increasingly sad sight before she was offered for a nominal price to Joe Pennington, a master carpenter, who began an extensive restoration project.
2015 She is now complete restored to her old glory, and used by her owner as a pleasure yacht. Otherwise you can find her in Ramsey harbour when the owner did not use her.
