The American small sealing sloop SARA bound for New York, to which city she belonged goes aground on the coast of Tristan da Cunha on 08 December 1820.
She had a crew of 5 men. All survived and care were taken by the islanders for their wellbeing.
When the KING GEORGE a whaler called the island at 25 December 1820, two men the Captain and Mate were taken on board, while the other three crewmembers decided to stay behind and settle down on the island.
